Sort Text Lists Alphabetically Software
The List Alphabetizer is a free application that allows you to alphabetize and sort any text or text-based files. It has a sorting mode that sorts by entire lines or by individual words and saves the results in a new text file.
You can use this to alphabetize lists, bullet points, and tables in Microsoft Word as a way to streamline your document. Often, this will make it easier for others to find what they are looking for in the document.
It also makes it easier for you to compare lists that have been sorted in different ways. This can help you when you are comparing a paper to another or preparing a resume for your post-graduation job search.
Alphabetizer options
Step 2: Select the list that you would like to alphabetize and click the sort button (AZ with a down arrow). A new dialog box will appear. In the Sort by box, select the type of text and whether it should be sorted in ascending or descending order.
If your list contains a delimiter such as a comma or space, choose that option from the separate terms by drop-down list. The alphabetizer will automatically process the list using the delimiter.
It will also let you ignore the first or second word on each line. This can be useful for lists of people, a list of items you need to purchase, or even a list of sporting events that you wish to list by name.
